Voicemail doesn't work when follow-me enabled

Post by zgnomis »

I just found that when I enable follow-me, when I call my phone number, it will not transfer to voicemail, the phone just keep ringing. After I disable follow-me, it will transfer to voicemail after preset number of rings.

My voicemail setting is:

Voicemail to Email: Copy
Rings before voicemail: 3

My follow-me setting:

Ring mode: sequential
Follow me mode: Call forward when unavailable

Has anybody else experienced the same issue? Do I need to change any of the settings to enable follow-me while keep voicemail working?

Thanks,

How many rings do you have your FME # set to in the Follow Me Settings? If the # you are FM-ing to has voicemail or terminates in some other fashion, then the call will NEVER revert back to your Fongo# to hit the voicemail....

IE: If you FM setting is 8 rings to your cell phone, and your cell phone either has voicemail which picks up after 6 rings, or STOPS ringing after 6 rings, then by having the FM setting at 8, it will never go back to the Fongo# voicemail.... did that make sense?

We should make this a sticky post as many people have come here asking how to turn the voicemail off, you seem to have found the answer.

I'm also wondering if one of the numbers actually picks the call up and generates the ring tones from there. Fongo will assume the call is terminated and not forward it to voicemail.

Which part? I have managed to lose myself now ... how did we figure out how to turn voicemail off? The rings exceeding setting cannot be it?

As far a # generating ring tones, I think I have lost your train of thought there too ... I had set up a complex FM-tree, and with the # of rings set lower than the total number of rings per each number, I did get it to time out without termination or return to FPL-voicemail --- but this was NOT the desired reaction either!

At one point, I had played with setting one of the mobiles to CFNA (call fwd not avail) and mistakenly created an endless loop, as it reverted back to the same FPL # that I had FM'd to the mobile!! That set of call logs was HILARIOUSLY long with entries!!!

As long as you can connect to the internet then DellVoice will work the same.
