Hi, I have a grandstream ht701 at home with a medium speed internet connection (1.3mbps)
I'm able to make calls but quality is bad. I know that my internet speed is the main problem. I have my fongo user info ( credentials) and i've tried it with an app on my android phone on the same wi-fi network and quality is a bit better.
So now, when I'm at home, I log in with the android app and when I leave, I reset the ht-701 so it can log in again for my wife to have a phone line when I'm not there.
The fact that quality is a bit better on the app is probably because the codec used by the ht701 needs a bit more internet speed than the codec used by the android app.
So here are my 2 questions
1) can I used a different codec (for low speed internet) on the ht701 ? and is so how do I configure it (keeping in mind that I already know how to enter the ht701 setup)?
2) Is there a way to make the ht701 re-login automaticly when I logout from my cellphone? 'cause now I need to reset the ht701 every time... and if I forget, my wife doesn't have any phone line.
thanks!

Re: dual home phone
This might work for you. Get another fongo account for your smartphone, and set up the home phone service you paid for to forward all calls to your new number. I believe there is an option to have it ring the ATA also.
