Hi,
I am living in GTA and I got my freephoneline number is 437-xxx-xxxx. So far I use soft phone application on my PC, it works well to receive phone call and call out but one very strange thing is when I try to call this number from my work place (Hospital, it needs dial number 9 before dial the out destination phone number) I can never finish dial the number before got the busy tone. That is after I dial 9-437-xxx then as soon as I continue dial number 6 the busy tone will come right away as if after 9-437-xxx it can not accept any number. From another place (no internal dial out) and use cell phone it seems work well. I hope anybody can help me find out what's wrong with it before I setup my ATA device. I'll appreciate very much for any help from you! Thanks!
Why I cannot dial my freephoneline number in my work place?

How to you dial other numbers from hospital?
I believe you need to dial 9 and then 1 followed by your number.
I could be wrong- but you can give it a try.
Thanks,

I can not call my freephoneline number from internal pho
Dear Sir:
So far I'm using freephoneline soft phone on my desktop PC. When I try to call my freephoneline number from hospital internal phone line (that means I need dial number 9 first before dial my phone number), no matter how I try, every time once I dial my seventh digital of my phone number I'll get busy tone that means I can never finish dial my phone number, but if not dial from internal phone line or use cell phone it works well. Could anybody can help me find out what wrong? I'll appreciate very much for any help!
Best regards!

437 is a fairly new area code for Toronto I believe, so it could be that your hospital PBX has not been set up to allow those calls to go through. I'm thinking it might be set up to allow local calls, but thinks that 437 is long distance, or doesn't exist.
Have you tested calling any other 437 numbers?

I have seen this in another issue. I am willing to bet where you work is using Bell as a provider and it is a conflict in the PBX system the hospital is using.nanbo wrote:Dear Sir:
