Hello
I would like to join fongo and also use it for my business. However,I am very reluctant due to fongo not having a dedicated tech support team or customer support number. If I am paying for a service,I would like to have the peace of mind if I ever encounter a problem, I can call someone. Forums are not the best way to solve issues. Alot of call centers are being outsourced to phillipines, why can't fongo do the same??
I want to get phone service, through a softphone without an ata is that possible??

Re: Customer Service Number
Fongo does have dedicated support, but they have decided to do it mainly though email and tickets. You can open one using the link in my sig.
If you don't want to use an ATA you have a few choices.
1. Go with Fongo and use their mobile app on a cell phone or iDevice. (this option is free) << This is the only option that allows you to send and receive text messages.
2. Go with FPL (www.freephoneline.ca) and use their desktop softphone. (this option is free)
3. Go with FPL and buy the Unlock Key. You will then be able to use pretty much any SIP device you want. Softphone/ATA/Voip Phone. (There is a one time charge of $50 for the unlock key.)
4. I will add in here Fongo's Home Phone which is $59 to sign up and then $4.95 a month after. They will provide an ATA for that though and it does offer a little more dedicated support if that is what you are after.
Both Fongo and FPL use the same backbone and you get the same calling areas and choice of numbers. The real difference is how you use the service. Only the Home Phone option has a monthly fee - unless you want to call a number that is not covered by the free calling areas, and for that you will have to buy world credits.
Fongo (or FPL as it used to be back then) used to have a very good phone support, but I think they just got too big to handle all the calls coming in. I believe the calls were being dealt with out of country, and to be honest they didn't really fix many problems from what we saw coming back to the forum for help. It does seem strange a phone company does not have phone support - but there you go
