Home Phone Not Working After Port - Password Issue?

Post by richvie »

I've had Fongo Home Phone for several months using a temp number to test out. Liked the service and found it stable and good sound quality so decided to port my home phone number from Rogers to Fongo. It was completed the morning of Sept 24th, however, it is still not working.

Calling my home phone number goes straight to Fongo voicemail (home phone does not ring) and I can see the calls and messages on the website so it appears the port is successful. When trying to call out from the home phone, I hear a dial tone and can dial a number (again appears port is successful), then get a recorded message stating "That password is not valid" three times in a row then a fast busy signal.

I followed the porting email instructions received from Fongo and changed my SIP User ID on the FXS Port page in my Grandstream HT701 from the temporary former number to my ported home phone number preceded with a '1' clicked update and rebooted the ATA as it prompted me, no other changes were made. My suspicion is the SIP Password in the 'Authenticate Password' field needs to be re-entered or has changed in the port process; the filed is currently blank presumably due to the 'purposely not displayed for security protection' stated beside the filed.

I replied to the port email stating this issue and did receive an acknowledgement email back, but have nothing further from Fongo. Can someone from Fongo please confirm my suspicion and supply me with my SIP password or advise/correct the issue? Did not intend on being without my home phone for an extended period of time with this porting process to Fongo.

Thanks
