The other day, my SIP Registration for my freephoneline.ca trunk indicated "Request Sent" not "Registered". If I reboot and or shutdown for 1 hour then turn back on, it will Register, but then 1 hour later will go back to request sent. I have set my Trixbox correctly as it is indicated by freephoneline.ca with a registration setting of 3600 and retry of 120. Is there something else I am missing. It was working fine for several months after I made the registration time changes.
This also happend to a friend of mine running the same system, he is in a different area though, but his issue went away after a couple of days?
Someone please help as this is getting really frustrating.

Re: Request Sent in Trixbox
I would open a support ticket and then send the ticket number to Fongo Support (see sig). They will be able to see more of how you are connecting to their server. It sounds a bit like a registration issue, but they will be able to tell you more. Fongo have made their servers a little on the sensitive side as regards to how often a SIP device can register, but that is mainly to protect the rest of us from a few bogging down the server.
Open a ticket, send them the ticket number and see what they say. Read also the warning about the ticket getting closed automatically.

Re: Request Sent in Trixbox
After speaking with Tech Support, my issue was related to incorrect DNS settings on my Trixbox server. I was connecting to a backup SIP Server. Setting my DNS to use OpenDNS, it then connected to the correct SIP Server.
In the future, how would we know if we are connecting to the correct SIP Server? IS there a list we can follow?

They change the IP of the server from time to time. You could try an online tool if you need to check the current IP I guess. Something like the one on this page http://whois.net/domain-name-ip-address/, just put in voip.freephoneline.ca and it should give you the current IP address you can check against.
I have openDNS on my router which in general seems to have helped things, this way I don't need to set up DNS settings on the computers.
