Following is my issue:
When I call from other phone line my FPL I get a busy tone, like the FPL line is busy and not able to receive calls. The FPL voice mail does not kick in either. When I pick up the FPL phone it does have tone and can make phone calls. After I make a call from FPL to my other phone line, than I can call the FPL no problem. The issue start to repeat after every few minutes or so. It looks like something goes to sleep and has to be awaken. I have to constantly check to see if FPL is working or not.
Hardware I use
Netgear N300 (WNR2000v2) wireless router (QoS Enabled, and no port routing)
Linsys PAP2T ( use line 1 )
Cogeco internet
Please help.

Re: Busy tone when calling FPL from other phone
I tried for a while and wasn't able to duplicate this problem using your account, did all sorts of call scenarios.
Have you setup port forwarding on your router?
Try having it forward using the following rules:
Port Ranges: 5060-6061, 10000-20000
Type: UDP
Destination: IP of ATA on network

Re: Busy tone when calling FPL from other phone
isn't this the problem when the Registration time is put at 3600 as was originally suggested by FPL?
I had the exact same problem and found that putting the registration time to 60 fixed it for me.

Re: Busy tone when calling FPL from other phone
I tried to open the ports sugested with no luck. The only way is working now is in DMZ mode. I had to put a password now on the ATA. It should be a list with all the wireless routers who work well with FPL. Is a pain to figure the proper settings with FPL and routers.
