Follow me setting

Hello,

I have question:

my setting for Follow me:

Status: Enable
Ring mode: Sequential
Follow me mode: Call Forward When Unavailable

I set my cell phone in the follow number (4 rings)

with this setting i will think if my ATA has ON, if i receive a call and if i don't answer, the call go to fongo voicemail.

If my ATA has down (electric failure for exemple) the call tranfert to my follow me numbers (aka my cell phone)


But i will test and if somebody call me and my ata was on, if i don't answer, the call go to my cell......not fongo voicemail. however my ATA has not "offline"

I don't view the difference between the "Call Forward When Unavailable" mode and "Always Call Forward"

I think the call forwarding has always been a bit sketchy in it's working. In FPL's case, I think the Unavailable thing refers to the use of the Desktop app. It seems to do all sorts of funny things when you use an ATA.

I'm not sure if they have fixed it right now, but if you power down your ATA you will probably find that all incoming calls are greeted with a busy signal. It seems after a while the system recognises that you are no longer connected and starts sending calls to voicemail or other numbers. I also think this behaviour changes depending on if the call comes from a Fongo number or external.

The solution below is from my understanding, see if it works:

Login to your fongo account, check the voicemail setting of how many "rings to voicemail", I would assume it's 5.
Then try either way:
1) Change the "rings to voicemail" down to 3, if you don't answer the next incoming call, the call will trigger your fongo voicemail after the 3rd ring.
or
2) Change your FollowMe setting's (4 rings) to (8 rings), if you don't answer the next incoming call, the call will trigger your fongo voicemail after the 5th ring.
