sip registration forbidden / access denied

Post by spidawg »

Hi

I've been having lots of trouble with my fpl for a long time. I have slowly tried every possible sip device and software I can think of and I'm often having problems where 'registration failed'.

some of the software has given more details about this error and actually saying 'forbidden' or 'access denied'.

The problem only happens from time to time, after having the phone idle for a few hours usually. I've checked that it's not registering too frequently etc.

I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done about this problem on the provider end? my freephoneline number is
613_799_XXXX

This is usually to the ATA trying to register too often. They have clamped down on accounts that are too aggressive in registering. You need to check their setup guidelines and make sure what you are using is not trying to register too often.

You can check their guidelines here > http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials

As i said in original post i have verified that it is not registering too frequently as you said is the usual cause, however, any other reasons possible?

Ive tried several ATAs. Is there any reset or anything that can be performed on the provider end?

Open a support ticket and PM Fongo Support. They can see a lot more details than we could try and suggest. Note that you will get an email saying the ticket is closed, but ignore that and PM them the ticket number you get. Links are in my sig.

To me it still sounds like a timer issue, but they should be able to tell you better.

Let us know how you get in.
