Hello, I installed my freephoneline with a cisco spa 112 ata box more than a week ago and have not been able to use the phone! The probIem is as follows:
- I have a dial tone and can dial out, but cannot hear the phone number that I am calling ringing
- also the person that answers the phone can hear me talking but I cannot hear them
I have updated the firmware on my ata box before doing the configuration and have double-checked my configuration but still the phone does not work
I also tried port forwarding 5060-5061 on the Hitron cng3 router (Rogers) but then the dial tone on the phone completely disappeared.
Please help! Have not had a phone working for weeks.

If you are using that Modem, there are known issues with Voip. I suggest to add the IP of your Cisco ATA to the DMZ on your Hitron.

Re: can't hear ringing or incoming audio
Hi there,
Thanks for your prompt reply. We enabled the DMZ on the router and added the IP address of the ata box. Then we were able to make a call, hear it ringing and have a two way conversation with the person that answered the call. However, when we tried to call the voip line (our freephoneline) we did not hear ringing and we received a busy signal. Help!

That is a setup issue with your ATA. Please try to configure it again using the attached document as a reference.
Thanks,

Re: can't hear ringing or incoming audio
Thanks so much! Its finally working! You should send customers this document when they purchase the sip/voip settings- it would save people a lot of time, especially, if they have a linksys router! We were unsure of were to put certain SIP/voip setttings- the document was a huge help.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

No Dial tone
Hi,
We have updated the settings but the phone has no dial tone. The phone line is not consistent. There are times when it is on and off. We have unplugged and plugged the ATA modem a few times. What do you recommend?
