Cannot get free version to work

Post by drosera999 »

Hi,

I'd like to try out the free version of the app, but I can neither hear nor be heard. I get the error that port 13000 must be available. I'm not very computer savy, but my firewall says the app is allowed, and I have configured my router to allow the port as well. Still no change when I test the connection. what else can I try?

system info:

windows 7
Avast anti-virus
Linksys router
Bell/Sympatico ISP with modem

If any other info is needed, let me know.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

The link you provided does not seem to show the modem that I am using , which is a SpeedStream 5200-Series. The UI is completely different, and I can find nothing similar to what is shown in that article.

I downloaded the program to create a static IP. It seemed to work. I then entered the 13000-13001 values in my router, and checked with the port checking app. The port is not open, and the IP address it returns is not the same as what I selected for the Static IP app.
