One way audio ... help!

Post by mpalamar »

Hello, I have been trying for days to configure things properly for this freephone desktop app. My callers can hear me but I cannot hear them.

I have a wireless (cable) connection to a D-Link DIR-601 and I have the following ports open: 5060-5061, 6060-6061, 13000-13001, 16384-16538. I set up a static IP address and still nothing. I would really like to get this working, can someone please help me figure this out?

Hi there,

What happens when you connect the PC directly to the cable Modem?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Same problem, they can hear me but I cannot hear them. I know it's not a headset malfunction because I use it with other programs without trouble.

Hi there,

It cannot be same problem if you connect directly to cable modem.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Desktop app 3.2.7.0

Thanks,

What do you have for a modem? Routers in a lot of modems tend to be pretty awful. I would work to disable the router part of your modem, and let your router do the PPP details. You probably have to talk to your DSL provider to do that.

Not a huge fan of your DIR-601 as is. Fortunately you can upgrade the firmware to DD-WRT if you have the A1 version.
