Free in-network calling

Post by callopsitte »

Something that many VoiP providers and others like Videotron offer is free calling for people in their network. So everyone that have FPL coul call each other free wether it would usually be a long distance call or not.

It would, I guess, be another way of attracting new customers.

This is the case already. No matter where you are, you can always call from one Freephoneline number to the next, free of charge! :)

And the in-network/local-network calling area is additionally MASSIVE. At least by a Canadian standard.

Cool! I didn't know and I guess I'm not the only one. Would still be nice to see it advertised.

Just one question. If someone ported is number from Bell and it would be a regular long distance, would it still be free of charge?

In theory, yes. Since that number would basically replace their FPL number's place in our free calling area. The numbers (NPA-NXX :: Areacode-Exchange) would just be numbers, and not mean anything.

I can tell you right now though, it's impossible to port a number that isn't local to the NPA-NXX / Geographical area you're porting onto.
