VoiceMail Indication System Problem - 24Jan14

Post by hanke »

I know this has been an issue in the past but basically was resolved several months if not a year ago and was working A1.

Today I received a VoiceMail Indication several hours delayed from when the message was left. I had received it via Email instanteously but the phone indication arrived several hours later. I retrieved the message and deleted the message via the *98. It usually took in the past maybe 10-15mins to clear since the voicemail issue had been resolved.

Now it is still indicating a voicemail on my phone some 2 hours later even though it has been deleted.

I suspect FPL Voicemail system is experiencing some faults as we had incurred in the past.

Is anyone else noticing this problem?

Hi there,

We had maintenance on the 23-rd. Perhaps you can try unplugging the ATA from power for 20 minutes that will probably clear it.

Let us know if there are any issues.

Thanks,

Before posting this I had already unplugged for 20 mins, cleared the voicemail on my phone set.

Replugged in the ATA and once registered again it sent the voicemail indication again on the line.

Only thing I could ask if perhaps my line could be reset on FPL end in the event something is hung up and not clearing.

Thanks

Fongo Support advised that I power down my Cable modem (Cogeco), router and ATA for 30 mins to possibly clear any saved Cache. I did so and upon power-up my MWI light came on immediately. I waited about 10 mins and no change, so I decided to toggle the functions on the ATA (Spa3102) in the MWI Service - from yes to no, and also the VMWI Service - from yes to no. I cleared the VM indication on my phone set and then turned the 2 same settings on the ATA, MWI and VMWI - from no back to yes.

I did this and my ATA seemed to now show no VM indication as well as no stutter tone. It has been like this now for about 45 mins so hopefully it will remain in operation. Not sure if the problem was cleared by the powering down of the system or toggling of the 2 settings in the ATA. None the less seems to be fine.

I will report back in the about 8 hrs and see if all is ok.

FURTHER UPDATE - As of this AM (Saturday) all seems to be fine. Hopefully as Fongo Support had suggested, the ATA has been corrected in the FPL system.
