Cannot hear caller but they can hear me
I cannot hear caller but they can hear me. I have dsl line with router linksys E2500. Anyone can guide me to resolve this issue. In addition, before i had cable and the phone worked fine, but i had issues with cable and i had to switch to dsl and thats when the problem began. thx mxez

Hi,
I experienced the same problem today and I was able to solve it. It seems SIP protocol is disabled by default in Linksys E2500 (and probably in other Linksys routers), you can enable it as follow:
Connect to your router by running Cisco Connect (or directly: http://192.168.1.1/), click Router Setting, Advanced Setting then click Administration tab scroll down and tick Enabled beside SIP ALG and then save.

Please try this:
1. Disable sip alg on your E2500
2. Add open DNS to your E2500

I tryed but it does not work. Can it be possible my isp provider is the problem. I had cable before i switched to dsl, and it worked fine until i switched to dsl because cable was giving me issues.

If you have a Thomson modem, you may need to unbind sip protocol in your Modem.

Update situation; I looked in the help section of my router. it is quite informative. I read if you connected to a dsl connection, then you need to connected pppoe. So i needed a username and password from my isp provider. I called they provided me what i asked for and also the were able to bridge my connection . And now it works.
