Hi, I just signed up today for the unlock and have it configured with my ata. I am not ready to port in my number yet. Would like to test freephoneline for a few weeks first. But I am wondering if I will be able to port in my vBuzzer number to freephoneline? I know for a fact that porting out of vBuzzer to companies lke Rogers, Bell and Telus works. But I am not sure if I can port it to freephoneline or not. I saw a post on here saying to inquire before porting in, so that is what I'm doing.
I'm aware that it will take up to 14 days for the port process to complete and not to cancel my service with vbuzzer. Just wanna know if it will work before I actually go through with it. Thanks!

It will depend on what exchange the number is connected to. Check this page that lists all the places they can port from, if you are on that list then you should be good to go.

The number is a 416 number and I am from Toronto. Guess that means it should work right? Thought there would be more to it than that. Thanks!Jake wrote:It will depend on what exchange the number is connected to. Check this page that lists all the places they can port from, if you are on that list then you should be good to go.

There should be no problem with a 416 number. A few people have ported from them before, so I know it is possible.
I believe you don't get a paper bill, so you will have to take a screenshot or printout of your online admin area instead.
If you open a support ticket when you are ready to port they will hold your hand through it no doubt. Just remember it will replace your FPL number you have now, so don't get too attached to it. If you want to keep that one as well you will have to open a new account and port to the new account. Another thing to remember when you have ported is you will need to change your username inside the ATA because the usernames are the phone numbers (including the initial 1s).

Great! Thanks for the detailed response Jake. Everything sounds good. I will open up a ticket when I'm ready to port in.

I just wanted to update the forum and confirm that porting from vbuzzer to freephoneline does in fact work. My vbuzzer number was successfully ported to freephoneline today. Cheers!

Thanks for letting us know JaySoya. I'm sure this will come up again and will be a great reference.
