Is service down?

10h41 am April 30th 2010.

Just picked up my phone and having a busy signal. 1st time this happens to me. I'm on a 2Wire modem/router (Mio box).

Though I highly doubt it is the same issue it may give you some insight.

Have you changed anything in your ATA or network recently?

My phone has problem since this morning.
ATA's status shows registered but can't make or receive any call, all go to died air. This happens some times but not always.
BTW, I didn't change anything on my ATA.

8h15 pm. Still down. I too haven't changed any settings in my voice modem/router.

Have any one of you tried restarting your ATA and changing the reg. expires time?

We've tested through 3 types of ADSL, as well on 3 different routers and everything seems to be working fine.

I have send a report off to our emergency response team just in case it is isolated to your area, we'll keep you updated on Monday.

Now I can receive calls but can't make any calls. All calls I made go to died air and the receiver can hear the ring tone only.

What's going on? Help Please.

I am using PAP2 and another line is used by another voip provider which works fine.
Again, I didn't change anything recently, the problem happens since this morning. At the first it can't make or receive any calls at most time and then can receive calls but can't make call at all.
Let me know if you need more information.

11h58 pm. Service came back. Everything is OK.

Although I had done a reset earlier (and did not work then) I redone a reset and everything is back to normal.

Thanks all for your help.

P.S. By the way if anybody knows the technician password to change some hidden settings in a 2wire modem/router Mio box 2701HGV-E please let me know. That is a very good modem/router and works very well for VoIP but some settings like the dial plan and call forward I cannot access.

I got the router directly from 2wire and they told me I had to contact mio or Signtel which I did by e-mail 4-5 times but never got a reply. If you look into forums for them people would say customer service is crap.
