Hi,
Last Thursday my Fongo line started having an issue. People calling me were getting a recording stating my number was not in service. I'm using Asterisk in my house. Asterisk uses the DID that is sent by the voip provider so that it knows how to proceed with the incoming call. Checking through the logs, it appears the DID now has a "1" in front of it. Instead of coming in as 613xxxxxxx, it's coming in as 1613xxxxxxx. When my PBX sees that, it did not know how to handle the call and rejected the calls. I changed it to put the "1" in front of the DID and now I am getting incoming calls again. Thought I'd mention this in case others are experiencing this. It appears a change was made at Fongo.
The only other thing that seemed to changed was the outbound caller id. My Rogers cell phone shows the number as +61 3xx xxxxx. It used to show up as 613 xxx xxxx. It's behaving as if 61 was a country code when it's really part of the 613 area code. When I press redial on my iPhone to call it back I get an error and fast busy signal (reorder tone). This seemed to start happening last week too. Has anyone else noticed this? Were there changes made? Fongo does not seem to be sending out the caller id in the standard Canadian format now.
Thanks.
DID and Caller ID changes?
