text messaging on a freephoneline number?

Post by lagjazz »

Hi,

I have a freephoneline number, and I have purchased the sip configuration, I am just wondering if it's possible to purchase unlimited sms text messaging service on my fpl number? Could be permanent or monthly based? If there is such an option, how/where do I purchase it?

Thanks.

Currently Freephoneline does not support SMS. Fongo does, but you need a new account with a new phone number.

I hear you can port your Freephoneline number to Fongo, but there is a $25 porting charge. With the prices Fongo charges, I suppose they need revenue anywhere they can get it.

Thanks for the reply, but does Fongo have an option to purchase the sip setting? I think they don't do that any more.

You are right, they used to but don't any longer. Even if they did still offer it the mobile app is the only thing that you can send text messages through, and once you buy the unlock key (when you could) or move to home phone, then you can't use the app any longer.

Your only real option is to open another account on Fongo and use the app.
