Getting New Phone Nubmer

Hello ... does anyone know how change your phone number and get a new one? Currently, my father in law has home phone with Freephoneline (using an ATA phone adapter). He was looking to me for help on how to get him a new phone number. Has anyone done this before and how to contact Freephoneline to get a new number?

The only way to do it is to either port in a number from another company, or open a new account and buy another unlock key.

They currently do not offer an option to change your existing number, and to be honest I doubt they ever will.

What about, opening another Freephoneline account, then port that number to he existing account. Buying a new Unlock Key is $50.00, versus porting $25.00. Will this work?

They don't normally allow you to port another FPL or Fongo number. I would suspect though if you had a VERY good reason to change your number they will, but it would have to be much better than just because you are getting junk calls.

Looking at it from their side, the cost of paying someone to change it would totally wipe out what little money they make on each account, which is essentially a free service.

If you are looking to get a new incoming number, you can set up a new account and then forward the new number to the old one. Really buying a new unlock key is going to be the way forward, unless you can sweet talk them into doing it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
