Using Fongo on my Q10

I have completed all of the registration processes on my laptop using the desktop registration process and all is working just fine.
I also downloaded and installed the Fongo app from Blackberry World. When I try to log into my account from my phone - it insists that my email address and/or password are unknown. However as noted above - when I log via the desktop everything is fine, but when I log in via the Fongo app on my phone it refuses to let me log in.

Anyone got any thoughts or advice??

Hi there,

If you registered an account at FPL with desktop app, you cannot use same account with Fongo mobile. You need to register for a new account from the Fongo mobile app and choose a new number.

So, just about any other web service in the world which I have ever used I can log in using the same account via laptop or cell - EXCEPT the one which arguably I was about to begin using most frequently! I am sure someone will try to explain why this is justified but I am not sure I can be bothered to have 2 accounts, 2 passwords and 2 separate phone numbers on 2 separate devices to use the same service.

The desktop service is run by Freephoneline, and the mobile app is run by Fongo. Although they share the same backbone they are different companies.

Try using one of your logins from another company and see if it works on the Fongo mobile app, I bet you will get the same results as when you tried to use your FPL login on the Fongo mobile app.

Most of us here would love to be able to interchange between the services, but that is not how they have it set up and so we are just thankful (well at least I am) that we have saved hundreds of dollars over the years by not having to pay Bell for a lesser service. Sure it isn't perfect, but it is essentially free - so I gloss over the bumps.

You can always forward one number to the other or set up simultaneous ringing which will get you part way to where you want to be.

I did not mean a voip service but 'other' note the word 'other' web services - I cannot think of one web based service I use where I cannot sign into the same service from either my cell or laptop i.e. Gmail, Dropbox, Any browser etc. etc. etc - anyway I read others comments and advice and have happily set up an additional account for my cell and it is working just fine.

Apples (voip) vs. oranges (other web services)! You made it sound like voip services e.g. magicapp can be accessed on a laptop and a cellphone using the same profile. I thought I was missing something.
