I received an email this morning from fongo telling me that my phone number had been ported to them as I requested. When I connected my phone to the fongo equipment I got a dial tone but cannot make a phone call. Whenever I do I get the message "this account number is not valid".
I also tried to make an incoming call to the number but it went directly to a message. (I did received an email with the message that I left). I unplugged everything and started from scratch and still got the same message.
Anybody have any ideas?

I assume that this is a ported number. Have you tried powering up equipment for 20 minutes?
Please let me know.
Thanks,

Did you change the username inside the ATA? When you port in a number to FPL your username changes from the FPL number you had, to the number you ported in (including the initial 1). If you haven't done that, then this is probably your problem.

Re: Linksys SPA 2102
Hi, I received my config file yesterday and configured the SPA 2102. I get dialtone when I attempt to dial, but get a voice saying that "that password is not valid". Thoughts on trouble shooting?

Make sure you have entered the details correctly. I know that sounds obvious but the letters in the password can often look similar. I1l 0oO for example in some fonts can look identical.
What I usually do is copy it from the online page into notepad, the it should be clear what each character is. Or just paste it straight into the ATA but be careful as sometimes it will pick up a bit of whitespace which will make the password invalid. Again using notepad can help with that.
With the username, make sure you use the full phone number, including the initial 1.

Thanks, the cut and paste worked great. One of the characters that looked like an l (L) was actually an I (i).
Just starting to play with some of the router settings as I'm getting one way voice (voice out, they can hear me, but no voice in; I can't hear them).

Trust me, you are not the first to come here asking the exact same thing. Personally I think it is just bad thinking on FPL's part. Either don't use characters that look similar for the password or display the password on their site in a font that clearly shows the difference. Omitting them would be my preference.
I see you are on Rogers, so make sure you are using the special SIP server. See this page -> http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials This may help with your audio problems.
