Outgoing calls, Call ID not showing to others (private) *67

Post by TetraSky »

Hello, today my mother used *67 to make our number private when calling someone, but now every time we call somewhere, the person on the other side says our number is still private, even if we haven't used *67 since.
Is there something I need to do to unlock it since it seems to have permanently set itself to private?

The dial plan used is

(*xx|911|1xxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|0xxxxx.)

Ask her to dial *68.

*67 is a turn on feature not a per use feature. *68 should turn the number blocking off though.

I see.. So it's completely different from a regular phone line.
Is there a list of star numbers somewhere for FreePhoneLine/Fongo?

It's actually your ATA that does the * codes, not FPL. Not all will be supported of course, but look on your regional tab on your ATA, they should be there. You can also change them to whatever you want on that page also.

Oh! I see! Thank you! (doing *68 worked btw)

So I'm guessing that "Block CID Per Call Act Code: *81 " would be the one for blocking the number only once? So If I exchange the star code of that one with "Block CID Act Code: *67 ", then composing *67 in the future will be per call instead of always ?

This is kind of confusing... Wonder why the codes are all messed up compared to a regular phone line in this thing.

Yes, if you swap those over *67 should become the per call number to dial. I have no idea why Linksys (Cisco) decided on this set of vertical services numbers but I expect they had their reasons. The good thing is the power is yours for changing as you want.

I've never used it so I can't comment on how reliable it is, but at least you know where to look now.

Glad you got things working normal again, and thanks for letting us know.
