Going along with my other post, this is aimed to be able to reduce your cellphone bill using your FPL..
having the ability to use your fpl line on the go would be great, there are a few possible examples of how this coudl be done..
whenever your fpl line is called by your followme line,, it gets "dialtone" and can then dial any number through fpl (this way the dialing strings could be saved in any cellphone, good for fav 5 or similar plans)
or
whenever your fpl line is called by your follow me line, the system doesnt answer, but instead calls back with dialtone, allowing you to dial who you want to call (this would be good for those free incoming plans)
I think these features would be a great benefit to customers, and make the service more appealing, than it already is... I have already set this kind of system up on asterisk with my old voip provider and it worked like a charm..
with this and the feature mentioned in my other request, combined with rogers pay as you go, (they offer unlimited calls to and from 1 number for 7$ a month), you can save a lot of money.
remote access to your fpln through pstn

This feature is called DISA - Direct Inward Service Access, and it actually cost a bit more than you'd expect from a free service, to make a call out of your number and use it's long distance plans (free or otherwise) so it would have to be a paid service, or pay per minute (For long distance rates etc...)
Yes there has been some discussion on this topic but so far no action as there are more pressing issues at hand.

Re: remote access to your fpln through pstn
Im pretty sure this can be done for free using sipsorcery.
While I was creating http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1288, Im believe it would be possible to create an inbound dialing plan that would call you back and allow you to input numbers to dial, but the scripting involved is quite complex.
anyone up for a challenge?
