Incoming calls stop working

Post by kenjliang »

Started from yesterday not able to get incoming call. The phone rang but when I answered, not hear anything on both sides. I didn't touch anything. It worked very good before yesterday. No problem for outgoing calls. Any ideas?

Can you confirm that you've forwarded all the necessary ports (5060-6061, 10,000-20,000) on your router, and that you're using the Preferred Codec of G729a and that Use Preferred Codec Only is set to NO.

Thanks!

Ports are forwarded and G729a is selected, it seems that is working today, however the ring pattern did change and in my case it doesn't show caller id, neither the number and the name, just blank.

I am having the same problem, and it only happened yesterday. I cannot hear incoming calls, but the party on the other end can hear me. Outgoing calls work fine. At work, my router is behind a firewall, so I cannot do much for port forwarding. My employer did not do anything different on their side. My Voxalot SIP VOIP account still has no problems.

I will also add, that when I have Freephoneline set up at home, the service works fine. I have the ports manually set up. it is set up on a timer so it turns off at home, when I am at work, so 2 ATA's at the same time are a non issue.

What ATA is this?
If it's a grandstream try using the "use random port" option - we found amazing success with that one check box solving a great deal of port forwarding issues. Unfortunately I haven't found a similar workaround for Linksys users yet

I am using a Netgear WGR615V at work. I have inputed a few different RTP ports and still have the same problem. The WGR615V does not do random ports. This problem only happened yesterday. It was working perfectly well for months with the same setup. So I am suspecting it is a tweak that was done on your side and it created some side effects with people behind NATs.

Had the same problem yesterday. Can call from FPL to Bell. But Bell to FPL wont ring, busy signal, not going to voice-mail system. etc.
It started working properly after 7 pm.
