Linksys EA3500 + Panasonic KX-TGP500 only Unidirectional cal

Post by jismon80 »

I have been using FPL for more than a year now with the same settings the Panasonic KX-TGP500 SIP phone and Linksys EA3500 Router. I had to reset my modem once and, then it stopped working properly. My ISP is teksavvy and I am using Thomson Modem. If I connect directly to the Modem it works fine. But via the Router, I cannot hear the ring on the other end or any voice from the other person. I have assigned a static IP to the phone and tried forwarding the ports 16000-16400 that the phone uses and also the DMZ. Still not been able to get it working. Please help...

Is SIP ALG enabled on your router? Disable it, and see what happens.

See if you can get the Thomson modem into bridge mode, and let the router do all the work.

Don't waste you time with DMZ. That usually only works with TCP ports, and not UDP ports of which SIP VOIP uses.

Hi there,

Please open a support ticket to have your account checked before your put modem in bridge mode.

Please let me know the outcome here because I have the same issue but with different hardware. My router is a Sagecomm (also my modem), I'm using the Cisco SAP112 and my ISP is Bell.
