VoiceMail Down

Post by EchoKev »

Myself and several of my colleges that use freephoneline have noticed that the voicemail is not working today. If you don't answer a call, the voice mail connects then immediately disconnects the call. The caller cannot leave a messages, nor hears anything. This is with both the SIP unlocked and normal freephoneline phone.

Please help!

voice mail not working when follow me # set

Post by qdi40 »

voice mail is set to pick up after 5 rings
follow me is set to sequential when not available and is set to 12 rings

when anyone calls it goes to the follow me # after 5 or 6 rings instead of voice mail, i would like to set up follow me in this manner for when my ISP goes down, I know there is another thread on this somewhere but though i raise the issues again.

Thanks

Hi there,

the number of rings for the follow me number needs to be adjusted if you wish to have system voicemail.

Otherwise it will go to cell voicemail if number of rings is too high.

so i currently have it setup so that voicemail picks up after 5 rings and follow me # kicks in after 12, i had follow me set lower before cut it still did not work so I raised it thinking a bigger gap would be better. As you suggesting that if i set follow me to 7 it should resolve the issue?

I can change it and test, i will let you know in minutes :)

okay tried it voice mail set to 5 rings

follow me set to 8 rings and still goes to cell , same thing when i set it to 6 rings, rings 5 times and goes to follow me #

is it not possible to have it go to voice mail first and jump to a follow me number if that is not available. As i stated before I would like this setup so that if my ISP goes down or my building loses power my calls will automatically get rerouted.
