Block calls to an outgoing number?

Post by superpuppies »

Hi,

I'm looking to block calls to an outside number from my PAP2T, to keep my teenager from calling a problem kid. Is there an easy way to modify the dial plan to make calls to a specific number fail (or ring busy)?

Thanks

Adding a ! will immediately block the call on dialing out - So if the number was 15198042222 your dial string would look like this:

(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.|5198042222!)

Just replace 5198042222 with the number you wish to block and voila! Your phone will now disconnect as soon as he dials that number.

ok i dont know what a PAP2T is but im looking to do the same thing but im using the new budphone :D

i want to block a few numbers so they cant be dialed from budphone

i also want to block the 911 service from working because i dont want any false alarms
im in a hotel and the address on my account doesnt match my actual location at the moment so a mistaken 911call would be bad
so how would i do this

if i want 911 ill be using my cell phone anyway

im also noticing a number pre programmed into speed dial slot 0
is this the number 911 would call?

Unfortunately you can't block outgoing calls in the Bud Phone (or any of our other software phones). People above were referring to the Linksys PAP2T which is a hardware ATA that can be used to connect a real phone with our service. It's a little more versatile with programming than a software phone and thus can have some dialing modifications made to block specific numbers.

Speed dial 0 dials our support number.

We are unable to disable 911, this is a mandatory service that phone providers must enable access to. You also need to keep your valid and current address on file when you travel with it. You agreed to a 911 TOS after you signed up stating you would do this and your account will risk suspension if it is not done. If you're in a hotel, please update your account to reflect the hotel address.
