JOIN - a SIP VoIP App for BlackBerry

Post by ckkatan »

Hi,

I could not find anything in this forum (maybe I am not using the correct keywords for the search) about "JOIN" - a SIP VoIP app for Blackberry.

I downloaded the app and was able to setup this app with my FPL SIP account (i,e, Registered). I can call in / out. But, I have no incoming / outgoing voices. I have enable STUN server as well.

Can anyone help with this?

I have not tried JOIN, but a couple of years ago I did try Taki on my playbook.(http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5984)

I know things have moved on a lot since then and I have no idea if Taki still exists, but I was able to get it going on my playbook. I will admit I have not touched anything Blackberry for a while now, so this is about all the help I can be. If it is still around, it might be worth trying. Voice problems in general tend to come down to if the RTP ports are being sent through by your router (I assume you are trying over wifi rather than the cell network). It might be worth finding out what RTP ports the app uses and forwarding them in your router.

Thank you, Jake.

I believed my problem with JOIN SIP app on the BB is due to the company restriction setting. After reading JOIN description again, it did mention the app should work for "Support for WIFI and 3G data networks (*without BIS/BES)". The keyword is "without BIS/BES". For my case, my BB is on a BES. :(
