Number Porting
Hello, I ported my two current numbers to Freephoneline end of last month, but still have not received any email confirming whether the numbers have been successfully ported. It's almost 3 weeks now. I wonder what that means, or is there anywhere in my online account I can check the status or progress? Thanks.

Re: Number Porting
I am not sure you can port from magicJack, though admittedly, I have no information saying you cannot. But if you can, it seems you have enough information from your my.magicjack.com account. There is a web site with a login and password, and a device serial number. That should be enough information.
I am going to guess that the porting process is going to be longer than with a cell phone, up to 2 weeks.
In any case, let us know your progress. I might want to port my magicJack number in a couple of years when it expires.

Re: Number Porting
Again, I do not know if anyone successfully ported over from magicJack to Fongo, but if anyone did, it would be nice if someone give their experience, either to Fongo or another carrier.
As for the rest of it, You are going to have to send in a support ticket request to get clarity on whether you can get a port done, or what will happen to the porting fee if the port is not successful. Giving all your information, screen shots, anything else the Fongo requests, will make Fongo's job easier. Remember, Fongo has to talk to the folks at magicJack, and have enough material to convince magicJack that Fongo is authorized to do a port request on your behalf.
It is not helpful you let the magicJack number expire. I do not know if that is going to affect the porting process or not. In the ticket, you should make sure you mention that.
Another addition about magicJack. I see you still have 2 more years of outgoing calling. I am not sure you will be able to keep that after you do a port request. I do not think you will, but it would be nice if I was wrong. I know my dad wanted to port over from magicJack to magicJack plus, and he lost the balance of the 5 years he paid in advance. The magicJack CSR seemed to think that was not a big issue. Probably would have fought harder if we did not use the old magicJack dongle for Google Voice calls using a program called GVJack http://www.pcphonesoft.com/

Re: Number Porting
hi there, I already submitted PORTING info to FPL by Paying $25+Tax, so they said 14 day time it will take to complete the process.
But I like to know, once the PORTING Process complete, I think my SIP User Name will be like this for example.
SIP User Name : 14161234567
Inbound/Outbound Proxy : voip.freephoneline.ca
SIP Password : _____________ ? (so I mean how I should know what is my SIP Password, how I will get SIP Password, because I did not buy the Unlock Key in my case, I just did the PORTING my LIVE line Tel#)
So please let me know "How I should get SIP Password", which is required to Configure my ATA.
Thanks

The unlock key is the SIP password. You should receive it immediately after you purchase it.

Re: Number Porting
Does anyone know if it would be possible to port a number located on the premises of a small charitable organization (non-profit)? I have heard that some did port, and were told that there would be no problem to port their number.

Re: Number Porting
That should be fine, assuming you have the usual documentation to prove you own the number, such as a recent phone bill.
To verify that FPL has coverage in your rate centre, you can look up your rate centre here: https://www.telcodata.us/search-area-co ... nge-detail
Then, make sure the rate centre is listed here: http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... e-numbers-

Re: Number Porting
Hi there, I did not Purchase any UNLOCK KEY here, because I already have my MJPLUS Live Tel#, I just did the PORT to FPL by paying $25+Taxes, so you think I need to Purchase UNLOCK Key also.
Please clearify me for this Doubt.
What exactly I did ;
1--I create an account on PFL site, then I got a Tel#, based on that I did the PORT Forwarding, do you think still I have to Buy UNLOCK Key for FPL Registration Tel# issued to me.
Please clearify me.
Thanks.

Re: Number Porting
Yes, without paying $50, you don't have a Freephoneline SIP account. Once you pay, you are provided with SIP account setting information, including a password.tester2 wrote: so you think I need to Purchase UNLOCK Key also.
.
All you've paid for is a phone number port.

Re: Number Porting
hi guys, I am back again, my MJPLUS Tel# Porting Done. After this my Phone Line is not working properly, I mean when any body calls me they said my phone is not RINGINS any Bell at all & in my Home I am not hearing any RINGS at all when ever any body calls me.
So I contact the FPL Staff, they said my issue Fixed in their system. After this when any body calls me, still I don't hear any Rings, or they are not hearing any RINGS when they dial to my Ported my Tel#.
I am using PAP2T ATA Adapter, this is not the ATA problem, this ATA work fine if I configure for any other FPL Tel#.
So is there any body having like this problem, please help me, I am in trouble, I am missing many important calls every day.
the reason I port this number is because I can't leave this tel#, so I ported this Tel#.
where as FPL Staff said to me call to MJPLUS to disconnect my service in MJPLUS system, so I call to them to Cancelled or deactivate my service in their system, so they already disconnect my service in MJPLUS system.
Please help me to fix my problem, which I am facing after PORTING my TEl#.
Thanks

Re: Number Porting
Have you paid the $50 SIP fee for that specific phone number? If the answer is no, that number will never ring.tester2 wrote: After this when any body calls me, still I don't hear any Rings, or they are not hearing any RINGS when they dial to my Ported my Tel#.
What router are you using?
Check your ATA's SIP settings, and make sure these are enabled:
Handle VIA received: yes
Handle VIA rport: yes
Substitute VIA Addr: yes

Re: Number Porting
yes I already paid 2 Fees like
1--PORTIN Number -- 25+Taxes
2--UnLOCK Key --- $50+Taxes
I already paid this all, I have proof of emails, and I already got the SIP Password etc in my FPL Account.
And yes the above all 3 settings in SIP tab enable to "Yes"
And I am using Linksys dd-wrt Router, and this is not the Router Problem, if I configure this PAP2T for another FPL Tel# it will work fine with out any problem because that is not a PORTED to FPL TEL#. That is real FPL Tel#
But with PORTED to FPL Tel# is not ringing the BELLS, the calling peoples said to me, it is going to start ANSWARING MACHINE some time after few minutes with out any rings. And many different kind of symptoms callar said to me, and in my Home no rings at all from last 3 days, I am facing this problem.
Thanks

Re: Number Porting
It can be regardless of whether it's working fine with another FPL number.tester2 wrote:

The issue you're describing does point to a NAT firewall issue. It makes no difference whether a number has been ported, unless it actually hasn't been ported to the proper account.
When you log into https://www.freephoneline.ca/showSipSettings does your SIP username actually show your ported phone number?
If the answer is no, you're going to have to contact FPL customer support again because the answer should be yes.
Take a look at http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=310
Make absolutely sure you're using the same settings, including registry expires, outlined in the downloadable .docx file.
Also make sure you check http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials
If that doesn't work, change your SIP port to 41001 on the Line 1 tab. If that helps, this is, actually a router issue.
If that doesn't help, try voip3.freephoneline.ca for the SIP server. Keep in mind, remaining on the voip3.freephoneline.ca sip server can get your account in trouble.
Just use it for testing purposes.
