freephoneline.ca service down in Waterloo

Post by polecat »

My phone service is down in Waterloo (as of this morning). I've reset the ATA. I can see it online through my account, but there's no dial tone, inbound or outbound. Any ideas?

Please try the following:

Set your SIP Port to a random number between 20000 and 65535. If this solves the problem, it was caused by a corrupted NAT connection on your router. We may be able to solve the problem permanently if you tell us what router you are using.

If that does not solve the problem, try to change your Proxy from voip.freephoneline.ca to voip2.freephoneline.ca, or vice versa. If that solves the problem, it could be that you were accidentally banned for registering too frequently.

Let us know if either of these suggestions work.

As always, make sure your device is configured as per the official guide: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16198

Mango,

Thanks for the input, but the phone service came back up on its own, about 10 minutes ago. Thanks again.
