Hi there, my parents would like to try your services before transferring their hard line phone number. If they subscribe do they get assigned a phone number in their region (Gatineau, QC)? And if they purchase the passkey to configure on an ATA, do they need to re-purchase the key again once they decide to port their hard line phone number?
Thanks for your help!

Re: New account then transfer phone number
You would need to subscribe with freephoneline.ca, and you will be given a free phone number. If you intend to purchase SIP settings, for use with an ATA device, that service will cost you $60. When you decide you are compfortable with VOIP as a phone line, you can then port over your old number. You will also have to pay a $25 porting fee for the port to happen. I am not sure off hand if Gatineau, QC is supported, but if it is, you can port the number over.
I would see what I can do to use the free service as much as possible, and when happy, then spend the money on SIP settings for the ATA device, and if you are still satisfied, then pay $25 to port your old number over.

You only need to buy the unlock key once per account. You will not need to purchase it again if you port your number in.
