I have really been loving the FPL service since I set it up. Call quality and features are fantastic. One problem I have been seeing, however, is that occasionally I go to use the phone and there is no dial-tone. I simply reboot my Cisco SPA112 device and all is well again until the next time it happens.
I have realized that every time Teksavvy changes my DSL Ip address (dynamic ip) it happens. Based on what I am seeing I suspect getting a static IP address would solve the problem, however, I really do not want to pay extra for a static IP if there is something else that can be done.
Anyone else notice this happening to them? Know of a fix other than going static Ip?
I have done some googling and found some other people out there on different voip providers complaining about similar things, but the information they were being told by their provider was that dynamic Ip should not matter.
BTW: My SPA112 device is sitting behind my firewall.
Thanks
