No inbound ringback - new RogersCGN3ACR modem
Hi
Everything was working fine for my 2 phone lines until last week when I noticed no inbound ringback. I've had this modem for about 2 months but the problem started only last week.
I have read the following thread and still have problems
http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17164.
The only way I could get the FPL line to work is put the IP address of the home phone in the DMZ. The problem with that solution is that every time I will reboot the modem the IP address will change and I will have to change setting again in the router. Also my second phone line still does not work since I can only put one ip address in the DMZ.
The support asked me to disable SIP ALG but I cant find that setting in the new modem.
Any help will be appreciated

You should probably reset device to factory and reconfigure.

As always, be sure your equipment is configured as per the official guide. Since you use Rogers, be sure to use the Rogers proxy, voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060. You may also wish to change your SIP port on each device, to some unique number between 20000 and 65535.qwert97 wrote:The only way I could get the FPL line to work is put the IP address of the home phone in the DMZ. If that does not solve the problem, you can use your router to forward your ATA's RTP port range (not SIP port) to your ATA. You will need to configure your ATA with a static IP. This is better than using DMZ which presents more of a security risk.
Since you have more than one ATA (or IP phone) you can assign a different RTP port range to each device. You don't say which ATA you use so I can't offer specific advice.

Hi all,
I have the same problem when i changed my modem from CGN3 to the new rogers CGN3ACR modem. I think it is not compatible with your equipments. I changed back to my old modem and it is working now.

For anyone actually searching though these posts one day, I would not recommend DMZ for this.

1) On the Basic Settings tab, choose Statically Configured As.
2) Pick an IP address that is outside of your router's DHCP range. Check your router for its DHCP range.
3) Use the same subnet mask and default gateway as your computer. This will probably be 255.255.255.0 and your router's IP address.
4) Use the same DNS Server 1 as your computer. This is often, but not always, your router's IP address.
5) If DNS Server 1 is your router's IP address, DNS Server 2 may be set to 0.0.0.0.
If this does not solve your problem, please tell us about the symptoms, and we will try to provide more help.

Re: No inbound ringback - new RogersCGN3ACR modem
LOL i spend hours trying to get the SPA2102 with the CGN3ACR.
1. The SPA2102 got an IP Address from the CGN3ACR no problem.
- Ping the SPA2102 and it seems to responded.
- try to go to the SPA2102 ipaddress with the browser, cannot access.
2. open all the port forwarding, no help.
3. Put the SPA2102 into DMZ, not help
4. replace the modem with the CGN3 (Advance modem) works fine out-of-the-box.
Question is, If I set a static ipaddress for the SPA2102 , would this work for sure? I hate going to Rogers and get the CGN3ACR modem if this doesn't work. Although I like the CGN3ACR.

Re: No inbound ringback - new RogersCGN3ACR modem
No, setting a static IP will solve some, but not all problems.
Please reset your device and configure as per this: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16198
When your device is reset and configured as per the official guide, set the following:
SIP Port: some unique number between 20000 and 65535, for example, 29267
Proxy: voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060.
If your ATA is configured properly and still does not work, please let us know specifically what symptoms you have. (I.e. does it not register? Registers, but no incoming calls? No audio?) I am not aware of any more troubleshooting to try for this modem, but perhaps another member is.

Re: No inbound ringback - new RogersCGN3ACR modem
Hi Mango,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The SPA2102 ATA setup was like that since I installed it. the only thing been change was the Rogers modem CGN3ACR.
This ATA has been through at least 3 different type of modem.
I will double check the configuration of the ATA again with now that I have downgraded my modem.
The only thing that I have not been try is the Proxy: voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060.
