Just went on my SIP setting page of fpl (something I have not looked at for over a year) and at the very bottom found these writings:
911 calls will incur a $35.00 charge per call. You will be charged $35.00 for each call to 911 made on an account with a VoIP unlock key
.

Is this even legal (such a high fee)? At least it should not be legitimate.

When was this imposed and why, and why is it nowhere in the announcement?
If the clown doesn't laugh it's really not funny.

They can charge what they want. Likewise, you're free to get your 911 service elsewhere and pay ~$1.50/month instead of per call. If you expect to call 911 more than once every two years, you'd save money. Personally I call 911 so rarely (about once every 10 years) that I would rather pay the per call fee.
