Is server down?

Post by goldenmeadow »

Hi!
My OBi200 is refusing to connect to server...
I get message:
Register Failed: No Response From Server (server=208.65.240.44:5060; retry in 29s)(UAP:5060)

Any ideas why???

My GoogleVoice and Voip.ms are running fine...

Thanks!

UPDATE. My OBi now says:
Register Failed: Server Not Reachable (server=208.65.240.44:5060; retrying)(UAP:5060)

All servers are operating normally at this time. Please try, in order, with reboot and test in between each:

1) Change your X_UserAgentPort to a random number between 20000 and 65535. If you use OBiTALK to configure your device, you will need to use OBi Expert Configuration to make the change. If this works, your router caused the problem.

2) Change your ProxyServer to voip2.freephoneline.ca. If this works, check that RegistrationPeriod is 3600 as you may have been accidentally banned.

3) If your service is still not working, be sure your device is configured as per the official guide: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16090

4) If your service is still not working, let us know what router you use, and if voip and voip2 respond to ping.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I went with suggestion number 2 and it works!!! I don't use OBiTALK, everything is configured locally. Registration period IS 3600.

voip.freephoneline.ca responds to ping, but doesn't register me :(

Thanks again!

Glad to hear you're back online. Did you also try 1) and it did not work?

Ok, for giggles I tried #1. I set X_UserAgentPort to 20200 and server back to voip.freephoneline.ca...

And it's connected! But it shows:
Registered (server=208.65.240.44:5060; expire in 3449s)(UAP:20200)

Why does it show 5060 port after IP address? And why did it matter when I changed port?

Thanks anyway!

Next time, please follow my instructions exactly. Because you did them in the wrong order, we do not know what caused the problem. If you had done 1) first, it would have told you whether the problem was your router, or a temporary ban.

Ok, will follow. Sorry man! (but it worked with old configuration for almost a year...)
Thanks for patience!
