Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
Hello,
I have been using Free Phone Line for the last several years. Recently, I moved and switched to a new ISP. My old ISP was Acanac but the new one is VMedia. With Acanac, I was using ADSL but I'm using cable internet with VMedia at the new location. I'm using Linksys E900 Router. My ATA is the Linksys PAP2A. Currently, for all incoming calls, the caller is receiving the message "the person you're trying to reach is not available" after this the person is directed to my voice mail. Also, my phone, which is connected to the ATA, doesn't ring. Before moving, I never had this problem but now I do with cable internet. How can I resolve this problem? I want my home phone to ring and the call should not be automatically sent to the voice mail.
Please help. I need to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Thanks.
John.

Re: Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
Please try to configure your ATA to use the Rogers proxy: voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060.
Also, please set your SIP Port to 46946.
If that does not solve the problem, please check the following so that we can troubleshoot further:
(ATA's info page, for the line configured for FPL)
1) Hook State
2) Registration State
(User tab, for the line configured for FPL)
3) Cfwd *** Dest (there are four)
4) DND Setting
5) Your E900 router's WAN IP address. (Keep the last few octets to yourself to protect your privacy.)
Also, please set your SIP Port to 46946.

Re: Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
Hello,
For my ATA, I'm using Line one for the telephone. Under the Line 1 tab, I placed "46946" in the SIP Port field. Also under the same tab, I placed " voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060" in the Proxy field. After doing this, the problem still persists.
Under the Info tab, I see the Hook state is on and the Registration state is set to online.
Under the Line 1 tab, the Cfwd All Serv is set to yes, Cfwd Busy Serv is set to yes, Cfwd No Ans Serv is set to yes, Cfwd Sel Serv is set to yes, and Cfwd Last Serv is set to yes.
Under Line 1 tab, the DND Serv is set to yes.
The problem has not been resolved. Please help.
Thanks.

Re: Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
My router's IP address with the last 3 digits omitted is 104.158.236.
For the User 1 tab, I see no values for the following fields: Cfwd All Dest, Cfwd Busy Dest and Cfwd No Ans Dest. 20 appears in the Cfwd No Ans Delay field.
Under User 1 tab, the value for the DND Setting field is set to yes.

Re: Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
From the User 1 tab, change DND Setting to No. Is the problem solved now?
If so, it seems that your ATA was placed in Do Not Disturb mode, and that your ISP change was a coincidence. You can disable this behaviour by setting DND Serv to No on the Line 1 tab.

Re: Incoming Call Problem - No Phone Ringing
I changed my old telephone # to a new Toronto telephone #. After the change, I don't hear the phone ring when I get incoming calls. I'm having this problem again. I didn't make any changes to my ATA after the # change. All changes that were suggested in this thread had worked for my old # but not with the new #. How can I resolve this? Please help.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I believe it takes a few hours for the new Toronto number to be provisioned to all carriers. The ticket with number change should specify that.
If you just changed number today, please try calling again after 1 PM EST today.
Regards.

I believe your ATA's User ID is your phone number. Does that need to be reconfigured when your number is changed?John12 wrote:I changed my old telephone # to a new Toronto telephone #.
