Incoming calls going to VM
Hi,
I have a Linksys ATA with a regular analog phone and VoIP key which I've been using (with FreephoneLine) for ~2 years without problem.
Since Friday, all inbound calls to the landline go straight to voice-mail (phone doesn't ring). Outbound calls are successful.
If I log into the soft-client instead, incoming calls are successful.
I have not made any configuration changes to the router, ATA etc.
Freephoneline voicemail config is set to ring 3 times before going to VM.
Rebooting the ATA, router and phone has not helped. Have tried using different analog phones but get the same result.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks.
Andy

Re: Incoming calls going to VM
Just to add, I took the router out of the equation (network cable straight from ATA to modem) but still see same problem.
I`m assuming then it`s either an ATA or Freephoneline problem.

Please check the User tab of your ATA. Be sure no Cfwd XXX Dest settings are configured, and DND Setting is set to No.
Double check that your device is configured as per the official guide: http://forum.fongo.com/viewforum.php?f=15
In particular, check that Register is set to Yes and Register Expires is set to 3600.
Since you are a Rogers customer, be sure you are using the Rogers proxy voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060.
If you made any changes, save, reboot, and test.
From the FreePhoneLine.ca website, navigate to Follow Me Settings and set Status to Disable.
Navigate to Voicemail Settings and set Rings Before Voicemail to 5.
Test your service. If it is still not working, keep reading.
Please navigate to the Line tab of your ATA and set SIP Port to a random number such as 21448.
Save, reboot, and test. If incoming calls still do not work, keep reading.
Check the Info page of your ATA. Report the following:
Hook State
Registration State
Next Registration In
Check your router's WAN IP Address and let us know the first two octets, keeping the last few numbers to yourself to protect your privacy.
Finally, let us know the model number of your modem and router.

Re: Incoming calls going to VM
Yes, that did the trick - thank you.
It was related to some settings in the ATA configuration.

Re: Incoming calls going to VM
I had a value set in the PAP2 configuration for `Cfwd All Dest` under User1.
Honestly, don`t know how the number got there - don`t recognize it at all.
Removed the number, saved and restarted. Incoming calls now succeed.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Incoming calls going to VM
That is a concern and could indicate your ATA has been hacked. This is a common technique used by hackers to use your VoIP account to make profits.
If you have port forwarding to your ATA, or DMZ, be sure to remove it. Also make sure your admin and user passwords are good and strong.

There was no pw on my ATA...there is now.
Have also removed port forwarding (DMZ was not enabled).
Thank you.

Can you confirm that you setup your VM to email as "copy" not "forward".
Please see below:

Let me know.
