incoming calls forward to voice mail after number porting

After my home phone number was ported, all incoming calls are forwarded to voice mail, no rings from the phone. Only outgoing calls can be made from the phone.

Shot in the dark: do you have any call forwarding turned on? (Perhaps temporarily setup to forward calls from your now ported # to the FPL #.) Check your PFL account settings from the portal on the web, to be safe.

Maybe an ATA power cycle, too?

My friend, hoca, has been using the Fongo softphone and then she has purchased the spa112 ATA. She has been using the Fongo softphone and very happy for it. So, she decided to buy the SIP and port her number. After she ported her number, she realized that all her inbound calls have been forward to voice mail. Note: She did not turned on call forwarding. She also realized that if she turned on the softphone, then her softphone will ring for the inbound calls. And there is no issue for the call. If she turned off her softphone, then all inbound calls will be forward to voice mail.

I took her spa112 ATA and tried it in my place. There are no issue for both inbound and outbound calls. It seems to me that the softphone may cause the issue. Hence, I suggested her to uninstall the softphone. However, she has trouble to uninstall the softphone.

Note: Her softphone has the same number as the ported number.

hoca is my friend and I am trying to help to resolve her issue.

My friend, hoca, has purchased the SIP throught freephoneline and the spa112 ATA from a computer store. Everything was working fine. Recently, my friend has sent a request to port her number. Once it was ported, the inbound calls will go the voice mail and outbound calls are working fine. Please note that she did not turned on the call forwarding. My friend als realized that if she turnedon the soft phone then her soft phone will ring for the inbound calls and there is no issue for the call. If she turned off her soft phone then all inbound calls will be forward to vocie mail.

Hence, I suggest her to uninstall the soft phone. However, she has mentioned to me that she has trouble to uninstall the soft phone and here is the error message:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Note: Her sof tphone has the same number as the ported number.

I think if my friend has stopped using the soft phone and power cycle the ATA should resolve the issue!
