Re: Message waiting indicator with SPA112
sometimes it takes a while for FPL to send the signal to your ATA that you have a message, and similar when it clears. I believe it can take up to 20 minutes for the status to change.
If voicemails are important to you, I would suggest using the email option.

Freephone line voicemail indication never goes off with OBI2
Hello,
I have a OBI202 that I just got the other day and paid for freephoneline.ca. Everything works but the voicemail light indication and stutter on the phone remains lit even after a voicemail is checked and erased. I tried removing the service and back on and the voicemail light remains lit. I do not want to permanently disable it but want it to stop after checking and deleting voicemail. I tried waiting 30-60 minutes and it doesn't go away.
I spoke to OBITALK and said it's something on the freephoneline side sending the indicators.
Anyway to help me?
THank you.

Re: Message waiting indicator with SPA112
I am having the same problem with FPL and SPA112 - the stutter dialtone and flashing "message waiting" indicator on the cordless phones continue for many hours even though voicemail messages have been deleted. I have tried powering down the ATA but the problem remains on restart. Any suggestions?

Re: Message waiting indicator with SPA112
I have the same issue (PAP2)
In the past I have been able to leave a VM, delete it via *98 and exit the VM gracefully via '*'. Seemed to do the trick before but not this time. There are definitely no messages on the Freephoneline server (or non that the web interface shows). Its been a couple of days now.
Everything else works perfectly, I wish there could be a resolution to this problem as its pretty widespread and nothing (or little) to do with the users hardware or configuration. It appears to originate from the Voip server.
I was able to turn the handset flashing light off with (*95....*96 turns it back on again) Panasonic wireless phone but the tone stutter and message was still present.
Any help from Fongo / Freephoneline would be most appreciated.

Have you tried to connect a different phone to confirm that the issue is indeed from the server and not from the phone?

Re: Message waiting indicator with SPA112
Hi:
Yes I tried another phone, same results.
I think I possibly understand the issue however. When I looked this morning I did have a message from 'anonymous' dated several days ago. My PAP2 is configured to send such calls directly to VM so that's OK but that message was definitely not 'present' yesterday (either by *98 or web UI). It looks like this message was 'present' but not being shown or accessible at all. It looks like something got out of synchronization.
I deleted the message and the indicator went out within a few minutes.
Anyway, problem is resolved for now, thanks for your help.
