What is this?

I'm new to freephonline. I just installed the desktop app on my Windows7 PC. There doesn't seem to be any support apart from this forum (is there a user guide somewhere?), so here's my question. When the desktop app is open there is an icon on the left situated between the clock and arrow icons. It is two small circles connected by a line. When I click it a box opens labeled "On Call" and a timer starts running. What is this? What does it do? It stops when I click on the hang up button so I assume I am calling someone. You know, some of us old guys need to have things like this explained to us. A little information pop-up for each of the icons would be helpful.

That is a shortcut to call your voicemail.

I don't normally use the Desktop app so I actually had to install it to find out which icon you were referring to. Mystery solved though!
