Followme Settings Fail After First Call
I have the Followme Settings set to "When Unavailable/FollowMe" and I rarely log in with the softphone application. When someone calls my FPL number it works great and forwards the call to the number I have indicated. The problem comes when I'm still on the phone with that person and someone else tries to call my FPL number. They get a message "This account is already in use. If you think this recording is in error please contact your system administrator".
Should the Followme service not just forward the second call as well and let the line that it's forwarding to handle the 2nd call with either call waiting or voicemail or a busy signal?
If that's not possible, you should have the 2nd call go straight to voicemail instead of some obscure message that A) confuses the caller and B) does not provide any indication that someone is trying to call you.
Please let me know if there is a solution in the works or if there are no plans to fix this issue.
Thanks.

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
Hm, I can tell you why it's caused, but I'd need to have someone look into why it's being caused in this situation
When you use follow-me, both account channels are in use, much like having a 3-way phone call, except it's outside world into FPL, then FPL back out to follow-me
Let me email this off and see what I get back. Feel free to check-in with me through this post if you don't hear back in the next 2-3 days (I'm doing a few new duties these days and don't get here as often)

I actually just sent an email off before I read your post here about this. We're just trying to find a notification of some sorts that will integrate nicely with the system. I'll keep you posted!Morgan wrote:Hey Steve. How are we making out with issue? Did you hear anything back yet?

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
Thanks Steve. Is it possible to send the subsequent callers directly to voicemail rather than provide them with a message until the line is free again?

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
It will be done, but I don't have a timeline right now. There's a few really big priorities taking up our programming team's time for the next couple weeks still.Morgan wrote:Hello. Hello? Is this thing on? Steve, are you there?

Thanks for the update, Steve. It sounds like you could use some more programmers.

Has this issue made it further up the priority list yet?

This issue has been reported as being resolved yesterday late afternoon. Is this not the case with you, Morgan?

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
This was not fixed yesterday and just to be sure I checked again just now and it still says the exact same thing when the line is in use and a subsequent caller dials the number.:
"This account is already in use. If you think this recording is in error please contact your system administrator"
I would expect that if some sort of "call waiting" is not possible, that the subsequent callers would be directed to voicemail and not receive this strange message.
This is NOT fixed.

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
Morgan, you are correct - The issue was reported as resolved in error.
I will bring this to their attention once more (not that it was forgotten) to reiterate the importance.

Is there an update on this issue yet? Unfortunately, if it cannot be resolved soon I will be forced to look for another solution provider.

Re: Followme Settings Fail After First Call
I just tested it now and I'm pretty happy with the results. Thank you! Here are the results:
Any chance you guys are working on updating the FPL client so it can handle more than one call at a time? Or adding an option in the followme settings to forward calls when the FPL client is in use?
- When I use the FPL client to make an outbound call and someone tries to call in on the FPL number they get 1 ring and then a busy signal.
When I use the FPL client to answer an incoming call and someone tries to call in on the FPL number they get 1 ring and then a busy signal.
When I let FPL forward an incoming call to the followme number and then a second person calls in, the FPL app rings and is able to take the subsequent call.
When I log off the FPL client and FPL forwards all calls to the followme number both the original call and subsequent calls come through and are handled by the call-waiting function of the line that the followme setting is forwarding to.
