Is it just me, or does it seem like every time a topic becomes a bit embarrassing or inconvenient the 'lockitus' virus affects the admin's mouse finger and yet another controversial topic gets locked?
Given the past history of topics getting locked, I was not suprised when the latest lock on the dropped calls problem took place. I think this is regrettable and in the long run will not be to FPL's advantage.
An inconveient truth.

That topic was getting horribly off topic and was turning into arguments.
Our rules do state that we reserve the right to lock topics when we feel necessary, you can read them here:
http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5
When topics turn into 5 pages of people saying the same things, people arguing, or go through changes in topic several times in several pages they will be locked.
We have stated several times that the issue is being looked into and we will update people when necessary - there's really nothing more to say until then.

Re: An inconveient truth.
I seem to have made you angry, I assure you that was not my intent with that post. As an Admin on many boards I appreciate the problems you face, and I do know that some of our newer or less experienced moderators do have a natural tendancy to lock topics as a way to apply censorship. I appreciate that your expertise is with VOIP and not Boards.
What troubles me about this, is that due to the existence of that topic people who were also affected by the problem realized they were not alone and publicly stepped forward to report they were also having the problem. Now there is no public transparency as to how many users may also be affected, and no way for them to work proactively amongst themselves to help you perhaps address what issues may be causing the problems in the first place.
One alternative to locking a useful topic is to remove or edit posts that that are not compliant with the site rules and guidelines. You may want to reconsider your position and unlock that topic, which would prove you are able to be objective and open for comments and constructive criticism and be a credit to the hard work that you do on behalf of all of us.
