Hello,
I sent my LOA and my last phone bill scan to loa@fibernetics.ca to have my home phone number transfered to my freephoneline account... I have asked for the LOA form over phone from a freephoneline representative, he told me my number was " portable "...Then charged my credit card for this transaction... I live in Saint-Alexis des Monts... This local to Trois-Rivieres, Qc. area. where calling is free with freephoneline but the city is not listed in the free calling city list and there are no phone numbers available for this area to choose in freephoneline service... in other words freephoneline does not seem to offer local service in this area.
Porting a number from a provider to an other is one thing... but there is no point in porting a number to an other provider if this second provider is unable to provide the local service for this number...
Now here is my question, is it really portable...What i mean is...will my neighbors will have to make a long distance call to call my number once it is transfered to freephoneline ??
Porting my home phone number to freephoneline

Re: Porting my home phone number to freephoneline
Just to clarify, that would actually be an impossible scenario. The first six digits of any phone number identify it's region and the switch it resides on - this is how phone companies determine what is and what isn't long distance. Even if you port it to an area it "doesn't belong", it would never magically change to being long distance.patx wrote:Now here is my question, is it really portable...What i mean is...will my neighbors will have to make a long distance call to call my number once it is transfered to freephoneline ??
Kris will get this sorted out for you though
