Can't access SPA122 easily on a laptop that doesn't have an ethernet port
Is there a simple way to get into the setup page on a SPA122. No such thing anymore as an ethernet port on newer laptops. I can easily get into my SPA112 by entering the ip address in browser but cant get into the SPA122. Have to dig out old crappy laptop that takes 30 minutes to boot up to update config. Spinning wheel of death before it times out trying to connect.

Can't access SPA122
Has anyone found an easy way to get onto login page on SPA122 ? No ethernet port on my laptop and cant get to login by entering ip address.
I can get to SPA112 config page no problem using ****110# to find ip address but won't work for SPA122. Only way in is to drag out old laptop and go in through the ethernet port

Re: Can't access SPA122
Please don't crosspost in multiple discussion areas about the same issue. Troubleshooting in multiple threads about the exact same issue becomes confusing.
The ****110# code announces the WAN IP (Internet port) for the ATA, and, by default, Remote Management is disabled on SPA122, so browsing to that IP is blocked. You would have needed to change the default admin password for the ATA first. Afterwards, you can Dial ****7932# followed by 1 to enable Remote Management (you should confirm that it's enabled under Web Access Management in the UI), and then browse to the IP announced after dialing ****110#. After enabling Remote Management, ensure the Remote Management Port is set and that Admin and Web Utility Access are enabled. Those settings are on the SPA122 Web Access Management page.
Regardless, the LAN UI at 192.168.15.1 remains reachable from the yellow LAN port even when Remote Management is disabled in the ATA. If you don't have an ethernet port on the laptop, you could use a USB (many laptops have usb ports at least) to Ethernet adapter, which can be found in computer part stores.
The SPA122 PDF setup guide you should be using is located at viewtopic.php?t=16340.
You'll have to use either voip4.freephoneline.ca:6060 or voip2.freephoneline.ca due to voip.freephoneline.ca not responding to registration requests at the moment, which I would imagine is why you're posting. Edit: voip.freephoneline.ca is working again.
Anyway, the following are the known methods.
Method A: LAN Access (Recommended First-Time Setup)
Prerequisite: USB-to-Ethernet adapter if laptop lacks Ethernet port
1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the computer to the yellow ETHERNET port on the SPA122.
2. Ensure the computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
3. Open a web browser, and navigate to http://192.168.15.1.
4. Log in with default credentials. Username is admin, and Password is admin (case-sensitive).
5. If the page doesn't load, manually set the computer's IP to 192.168.15.2 with subnet 255.255.255.0, then revert to automatic after configuration.
6. Change the default admin password (Navigate to Administration tab-->Management-->User List). This step is mandatory before Remote Management will function.
7. Navigate to Administration --> Management --> Web Access Management.
8. In Web Access Management, set
i) Admin Access to Enabled,
ii) Web Utility Access to HTTP or HTTPS (HTTPS is more secure),
iii) Remote Management to Enabled, and
iv) Remote Management Port to a desired port (default is 80)
9. Click "Submit" to save all settings.
Method B: WAN Access via IVR (After Method A Completed)
Please note this critical requirement: the default admin password must be changed via Method A before IVR code 7932# will function; otherwise, it returns "invalid option".
1. Connect an analog phone to "Phone 1" (grey port).
2. Press **** (four stars) to enter the IVR menu.
3. Dial 7932# followed by 1 to enable WAN access to the admin web server.
4. Dial **** (four stars) again to re-enter the IVR menu.
5. Dial 110# to hear the IP address announced.
6. Enter the IP address you heard into a web browser (include port if changed from default 80, ex. https://203.0.115.50:80).
7. Log in with the new admin credentials set in Method A.
8. Select Advanced view in the upper right for full configuration options.
IVR codes (after dialing ****)
110# -- Reads WAN (Internet port) IP address | Used for remote access after 7932# is enabled
210# -- Reads LAN (yellow Ethernet port) IP address | SPA122 only; default is 192.168.15.1
7932# -- Toggle WAN web access (1=enable, 0=disable)
(Only works after changing default admin password)

Re: Can't access SPA122 easily on a laptop that doesn't have an ethernet port
Thank you once again for your vast knowledge and help. One issue that I finally resolved was that you cannot turn on remote access using 7932# option unless you have changed the default password for admin access. You must also enable Web access as well as remote access and the only way to do so is by connecting your laptop via ethernet port to ethernet port on SPA122. Once you have done this and enabled both you can access device by optaining ip address (****110#) on phone connected to line 1. This is not an issue on the SPA112 as it only has one option to enable Web access and no option for remote access. The things we do to save a buck, wow. Many hours of my life I will never get back.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I was distracted by the voip.freephoneline.ca outage and typed too quickly. I should have written, "if you're going to enable remote management, you need to change the admin password (I would change the password regardless) first". Also I wrote my steps too quickly, and the listed methods were backwards, logically.Liptonbrisk wrote: 10/06/2025 If you're going to enable remote management, I would change the password to access the ATA (I would change the password regardless).
I'll edit my original response for clarity in case someone else references it.
And in case I want to use this emulator again, I'll just paste the link: https://highspeed.tips/files/emulators/ ... ement.html.
