Old Fongo Number Question

Hello Folks, hope all is well with everyone.

Here's some context so my question can be answered.

I had DellVoice and when it changed to Fongo, I was with Fongo for 5 years purchasing texting packages so I didn't have to give my real number to peeps I didn't want having it. I liked the number so much, I wanted to port it to a real mobile provider, so I did. I've had the number with this service provider for 7 years (9 when I plan on dropping it). Now that you have some context, here's the question.

From my understanding, once I drop that a number, the number goes back to Fongo. Is there a way I could request the number to be used on my Fongo account without porting it back? I'm not dropping the mobile account, just the Fongo number I had ported.

Hello,

No. The number does not automatically revert to Fongo when you cancel it at the mobile carrier, and Fongo cannot reassign it to a Fongo account without a port-in. If the mobile service is cancelled, the number returns to the mobile carrier’s number pool.

If you want to use the number with Fongo again, you must pay Fongo’s fee to port it back while it is still active on your mobile account.
