PAP2 - Call Back "This call not covered by your tarif"

Post by sl149q »

I have a Linksys PAP2 configured and working reasonably well with Freephoneline.

But I can't get the PAP2 to do a Call Back (*07 - use when called number is busy to have ATA continue to try the number for up to 30 minutes.)

Immediately on dialing *07 I get a voice message saying "This call is not covered under your tariff".

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

This is because the callback code (*07) is not configured in our switch to go anywhere, may I ask what you are trying to accomplish with the callback?

From the Linksys ATA Adminstrators Guide:
Automatic Call Back

This feature allows the user to place a call to the last number they tried to
reach whether the call was answered, unanswered, or busy, by dialing an
activation code.

1. Pick up the receiver
2. Listen for dial tone
3. Press *07

If the number called is idle, the call rings through and completes normally. If
the called number is busy, the user hears a special announcement and the
feature monitors the called number for up to 30 minutes. When both lines are
idle, the user hears a special ring.
During the monitoring process, the user can continue to originate and receive
calls without affecting the Call Return on Busy request. Call Return on Busy
requests can be canceled by dialing the deactivation code.
Further googling for pap2 automatic call back http://www.natconet.com/clascard/callback.htm.
How To Use:

When you hear a busy signal, depress the "switchhook" and release quickly. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you've already hung up, pick up the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
Press *66.
If the line is still busy, hang up. Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free (some phones ring normally).
Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.
To cancel:

Depress the "switchhook" and release. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you've already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
Press *86.
Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.
And *66 does appear to work correctly.

Thanks.
