I got my FPL device 2 weeks ago. Installation went smoothly. Dialing and receiving calls with this new phone was perfect, until a few days ago.
On Thursday, when I was going to make a call, I could not hear the dial tone. Then I noticed red light flashing on the ATA. The phone was dead.
My ATA is: Grandstream HT-286
My router is: DLink Dir-655
I dialed *** on the phone and got an error message: E103E. (This error message means "Device is not registered to SIP server", according to the "HT–286 User Manual" downloaded from this forum.)
I tried to configure the ATA with my browser, but with the 192.168.000.1XX in the browser address, I sometimes got "Access denied", sometimes got the configuration page. However, accessing this page didn't solve the problem.
I tried on the router's configuration page, and couldn't find anything wrong.
I have rebooted my computer, router, ATA, and modem; and have unplugged and replugged the cables a couple of times. The phone is still dead.
During these tries, occasionally, the error message was E103E E104E, but then it changed back to E103E.
What should I do?
Please help.
Thank you.

Re: E103E Help needed
You'll get the access denied in your browser if the phone is off-hook. Grandstream does that as a safety method to prevent any configuration being changed in-call.
When you get the E103, if you check your router configuration at the same time, is the router assigning it an IP address? That error is most commonly from a failed DHCP server.

Re: E103E Help needed
Thank you, Steve.
I disconnected and reconnected the router and the ATA again, the error message was gone. I've access. However I still cannot make a call.
There is a new problem. When I picked up the phone, there was a dial tone. When I dialed a local number, I heard a voice saying "That password is not valid".
What does that supposed to mean? What password? How can I key in?
Please help.
Thank you.

Re: E103E Help needed
I'd suggest grabbing our config guide from here: http://forum.freephoneline.ca/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=647
and then check your ATA's configuration against your config file you purchased that will show on the SIP Settings tab of your account. I'm wondering if maybe some information got mixed up somewhere in the programming stage.
