FPL to FPL poor quality

Quality of calls from other cell phone or landline is good for now, but when I called from FPL softphone to my friend's FPL softphone, a lot of echos and loudly scratches that I even can't hear anything. Any idea about this?

There are a few things to take into account - The hardware used (Microphone, speakers, headset, ATA, IP phone)...

As well as codecs and codec payloads.
