310 numbers for Fongo Home Phone

Post by lustucru »

In the past, Bell Canada locals numbers (310-BELL and 310-SURF) prefixed with the area code could not go through and only 7 digits numbers could be dialed, resulting in an international charge for California with some carriers like Fongo or Chatr.

These numbers can now be dialed without charge when prefixed with 514 Montreal area code.

I have tested this feature today and hope it will work for other area codes in Canada.

That call should be free. Try dialing it with an area code in front of it also. If it still shows a charge, send a report please

I'm having strange results with 514-310-xxxx numbers today when calling from Fongo home phone. A Bell recorded message asks to hang up and dial only the last 7 digits.

It was working on 08/15.

I dialed 514-310-BELL and 514-310-SURF successfully from my Chatr cell today.
